Ski/Snowboard School at Powderhorn

Powderhorn Mountain Ski and Ride Center offers ski and snowboard classes for riders ages 3-and-up of all skill levels. Their affordable classes are all instructed by PSIA/AASI Certified professional riders whose mission is to help teach the proper techniques for both skiing and snowboarding. The resort offers 4 different types of classes, Early Bird Private Lessons, Group Lessons, Private Lessons, and Family and Friends Private Lessons. All lessons are designed to give the ski/snowboard student the best possible learning environment to improve their skills.

Early Bird Private Lessons are the best value on the mountain, giving the ski or snowboard student thirty minutes of free lessons. Early Bird Private Lessons are available every morning, and last from 9:00am until 10:30am. Early Bird Private Lessons do require a reservation for anyone who is interested in taking the class.

Group Lessons are for students who don't mind learning to ski or snowboard with the company of other willing students. Group Lessons are available for both two-hour and four-hour classes, and run from 10:30 am - 12:30 am and 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm daily. Group Lessons are open to riders of any skill level and do not require a reservation.

Private Lessons are designed for riders who want to take on a special challenge of skiing or snowboarding, from simply learning to ride, to refining advanced skills. Private Lessons allow the student to choose their area of emphasis, as well as what time they would like to take their class. Private Lessons are available for 1, 1.5, and 2-hour classes. Although a reservation is not required, it is recommended.

Family and Friends Private Lessons are similar to Private Lessons, offering an exclusive instructor. Designed for families and friends who wish to learn to ski together, Family and Friends Private Lessons require 2 to 5 participants, of any age or skill level. Family and Friends Private Lessons are charged per person, per hour, and although a reservation is not required, it is recommended.

Although not all lessons require reservations, it is highly recommended, as is arriving up to 60 minutes ahead of time if any ski or snowboard rentals will be necessary. The Powderhorn Ski and Ride Center has been successfully teaching and improving the skills of both skiers and snowboarders for over ten years.
