Driving
Glenwood Springs, Colorado, is located in central Colorado where the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River converge. This scenic mountain resort has several options for getting to and around town. If you travel by car, Interstate 70 is the best option for getting there. Once you arrive, there are many park and ride locations throughout the municipality. Some say that renting a vehicle, perhaps even a bicycle, is the way to go. However, the city is small, and Glenwood Springs is famous for its walking trails and sidewalks. You can walk easily to points of interest, restaurants, pubs, and shopping, weather permitting.

Amtrak
If you arrive in Colorado via Denver and have the time to spare, Amtrak's famous California Zephyr has services from Denver to and from Glenwood Springs. Traveling by train to Glenwood Springs may take a little longer (It is a 5 – 6 hour trip.); however, you will be amazed by the breathtaking vistas as the Zephyr rambles beside the Colorado River. The train ride provides scenery, which you cannot access when driving or flying.

Greyhound Buses & Public Transportation
Travelers seeking inexpensive ways to get to Glenwood Springs may utilize the Greyhound bus terminal services to Glenwood Springs. If you do not like walking or renting a car, you can depend on the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority Services (RFTA) to take you from Glenwood Springs to the popular skiing communities. It is a short 10 mile trip to family-oriented Sunlight Mountain. Aspen is only 44 miles away, and they provide a free seasonal shuttle service that operates every half hour. Also, for the expert skier, the RFTA serves some world-class ski resorts in the Glenwood Springs area like Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk. The bus schedule begins each morning at 5:55 and ends at 7:14 pm. The RFTA makes ten stops going north and nine stops going south at 30-minute intervals.
