Fired Up Pizza
Artisan pizza baked in a wood burning oven, Fired Up Pizza in the heart of Durango serves Neapolitan pizza for lunch and dinner. The menu gives a choice of numerous toppings. The flavors and aromas are amazing. For best service, orders for takeout should happen before the dinner rush time. Otherwise, the servers and bar tenders are friendly and extremely helpful. The restaurant is often full, and the ambience is electric and casual.

Ken and Sue's Restaurant
An American bistro style establishment, this restaurant offers a casual to fine dining experience. The service is excellent and the atmosphere pleasant. The outdoor dining is lovely in summer and winter with charming heated tents. Lunch, dinner and late night are the serving times. The menu has a good variety with favorites like meatloaf, grouper fillets and scallops. A separate kids' menu has items like chicken strips and quesadillas. Guests should make prior reservations for dinner.

Ore House
One of Durango's oldest restaurants, Ore House gives a true taste of western dining with decor and environment. The cuisine is steakhouse, American, local and southwestern style. This is the place for steak as well as seafood from sustainable sources. As well as the salad bar, sides with the meal like salads and macaroni and cheese are superb. The children's menu offers burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and more. Ore House is a restaurant that local residents prefer.

Oscar's Cafe
Great food at a great price for breakfast and brunch, Oscar's Cafe provides well-loved American breakfast food, hot and fast. The portion sizes are huge. Eggs are fixed different ways from fried to omelettes. French toast is wonderful. The decor is diner-style with trains and posters. The small establishment is frequented by locals, and guests sometimes need to wait for a table, especially on weekends. Still, the food is worth a wait.

Zia Taqueria
The delicious food is beautifully presented and the prices are excellent. Zia Taqueria offers Mexican cuisine with a fabulous menu and a second menu that meets the requirements for Colorado's Activity & Nutrition Program. A variety of burritos, tacos and other items are offered. The fresh salsas are flavor treats. Like a cafeteria, the food is served in the front where guests can choose just what they want. Then, guests sit in the small dining room. Sometimes the place is extra crowded because of its popularity.
